Mystery spots/rash???

Hi,

My 13 month old baby has developed about 3 spots on her face. Then she had high fever (up to 38.9) spots became more around her mouth and on lips and also on the hands.

Fever reduced, but now her legs are full of tiny spots as well.

If it is not chickenpox and measles what can it be?? It is not hand mouth foot virus either.

The spots are tiny red and then get bigger and redder. It seems she has pain in her mouth too as she screams when she has her first mouthfull of food.

Thanks...

well, it sounds a lot like HFM. What makes you think it isn't?

who said it's not hand foot and mouth? It sounds a lot like it Hmm

The nursery. With hand foot and mouth it should all come together. Her feet are not affected. Doctor said spots are INSIDE the mouth not on the face.

ANd it all happens within one to two days. But she had first on face, one day later hands, and one day later on legs.

I'd still be tempted to get GP dx not rely on nursery (no offence to nursery, but presume they're not medics?)

That's what I was thinking. Just got worried tonite as her legs are covered in spots. Thought maybe someone knows the symptoms (some longtime mums :))).

Do you think I should take her tonite or can it wait till tomorrow?

depends on your mum-judgement, if she's still got a high temp I'd be tempted to head for out of hours, if that's gone down then I suppose you go with your gut feeling!

My DD(10mo) had HFM last month, spots started around the mouth, then on hands, then in mouth and then covered her feet and legs.

It really sounds like HFM! I'd see your GP.
