Getting antibiotics into a 7 month old

Help! My 7 month old DD has tonsillitis and the doctor has prescribed penicillin 4 times a day for 10 days. We're on day 3 and i'm really really struggling to get any of it in to her. Its a foul smelling and tasting orange liquid that if i'm honest even i would struggle to swallow without spitting it out but DD really won't take it. It takes two of us to administer the medicine. We have to pin her down, use our finger to open her mouth which she clamps shut and then syringe the liquid to the back of her cheek which i was informed as being the best way to get it into her but even with all that she still spits a lot back out and struggles /cries like mad. i'm worried i can't get her to take it and the infection won't clear up but also the whole process is so traumatic that it upsets me never mind her!. Any advice?

What about trying to add the medicine with juice or flavoured yogurt? Give her some without the medicine first then the other one with the medicine added.
