anoxic seizures

Ds2 was admitted to hospital last week after falling onto the back of his head. He had all the classic signs of an anoxic seizure and was diagnosed with this by the doctor. He was admitted for 7 hours for observation then released and was fine. So what now? Was still in shock at the time so I didn't ask any questions. Should I go to the GP and ask for tests etc or is it just not that serious (because it bloody felt serious to me at the time!) Any advice gratefully receieved.

Hi OP (funny name btw :))
My advice would be to talk to your GP about it - not necessarily to ask for tests, but to find out more about what happened to your DS and to understand if you need to keep an eye on him. Hopefully everything will be OK and you will get some peace of mind.

Cheers. That was my gut feeling but they are a bit funny with you at our GP's if you take an unneccessary appointment.

You can always call them and ask to speak to a doctor, if you're nervous about that.
The doctor (NOT a receptionist) can then tell you if you should bring your DS in or not, and if not, you can discuss your concerns over the phone.
I tend to do that with our surgery when in doubt, and they're usually very helpful.
Alternatively, I suppose you could call NHS direct?
