childs anal fissure

please can anyone help us, going thru hell with little man who has two anal fissures, theres since dec, been to pead, did the creams etc, diet is excellent, not healing, now paed has said if not healed in 6 weeks will have go for anal stretch. am terrified of this, would love if anyone has any experience of it with their kids, hes only two and a half, poor man .am terrified of any ops as unsure of outcomes, any advice/exp be gladly received , thanks

Ouch. Your poor wee guy. I've no experience of these but I hear that they are very painful. So bumping for you. Hopefully you'll get some advice soon. Good luck.

anal fissures can be very painful and difficult to treat. normally the first approach is to pack it out with a dressing and change every 3 days and see if it heals. if it doesnt then surgery to the area is often the next step to remove and debride the affected area. it depends how deep the fissure is. some can be quite deep and it is difficult to get the bacteria out without minor surgery.

did he have a small hole near his bum when he was born or a deep crease.
