Dear All,

My 1 year old dd has had a cough for a couple of weeks and we have been using aerosol therapy. OUr doctor has also been kept up to date. Anyway, when we went to the doctor last wednesday for a check-up she said that my dd had a bit of a cough and red throat but it was nothing to worry about, just keep on with the aerosol therapy.

Then on Sunday dd started with fever and cough started to get worse. I took her back to the doctors on tuesday and the doctor said that her throat was red and inflamed, she has a wheeze and maybe a slight bronchitis. Dd is now on her 6th day of fever. She does not cough very much during the day but is up from 11pm to 3am coughing. It has become worse. Last night it seemed that she could not catch her breath. She also has a wheeze.

We are continuing the aerosol therapy with different medicines, started antibiotics on tuesday. Today we also started with cortisone.

The doctor has also said that if the fever continues tomorrow we have to take dd to emergencies and take a chest xray.

I am really worried. My husband is away at the moment. I just need some reassurance please.

Thanks

Thank you PixieOnaLeaf. I think I will take her tomorrow. It has been a really difficult week because I have also been ill with a respiratory infection and also taken antibiotics. Ok I better go, dd has just woken up!

Ok it seems that the cortisone helped during the night. DD did not cough very much but was awake from 1am to 5am and then 7:30am. I am exhausted! We shall see how things go today.
