And DH is now telling him what could happen if it gets worse.

Please calm me.

DS is 9.

Dd had this two weeks ago. As soon as she started taking the antibiotics she got better very very quickly. (2 days after starting we saw a marked improvement).

Tell your dh to shut up.

Dd is 6.

Thank you. I clearly can't spell when worrying. He has had 2 doses so hopefully will soon feel better. He is being very cheeky and winding me up so maybe not so ill.

Did you keep your dd off school? I asked the doctor if he could go back on Monday and he just said to see how he was.

Dd was off for 4 days. She started the antibiotics on the Monday (having had a high temperature all weekend) and went back to school on the Friday.

FourFortyFour · 01/03/2011 18:59

He doesn't seem to be getting any better and has nearly finished the antibiotics.

I can only go on what the doctor said and he said bronchitis. He is still coughing now. I feel so sorry for him, he is just not himself.

get him in the bathroom with a hot shower and steam the beejesus out of him. lots of fluids and keep an eye out for a high temp.

FourFortyFour · 02/03/2011 09:21

I have a vapouriser that you plug in. Will that help? He has had breakfast today Smile and says he feels better than before he saw the doctor Smile.

best to turn the shower on hot and sit in the bathroom for a while. sounds like he's starting to turn the corner...

FourFortyFour · 02/03/2011 10:01

I will do that, thank you. I don't think he will like it though. Will come up with some thing. I used to have to do it when he was a baby. He has had bronchitis before now I come to think of it. He had something sounding like laringitis but not that last year.

We were up with him last night and he had a temp of 39.6 and a headache. Eventually persuaded him to have come Calpol and he got some sleep. This morning he still had a headache but his temp had come down to 37.1. Rang OOH doctors for advice and I took him down. He had all tests done and thankfully his chest is clear. He was adamant he wanted to go to school and the doctor/school were happy with that. They are ringing me if he needs to come home.
I been to Boots and bought everything we need and then have come home and binned the cough medicine.

Thank goodness he has tomorrow off school.
