Hi, my daughter is 8 and a half months old. She has been unwell with teething on and off since December but still no sign of any teeth. The past few months she has been unwell more than she has been healthy. She has been getting a high temperature, a heavy cold, restless and fretful and very upset, she also looses her appetite. She also tries to chew on most things and rubs her face and ears a lot. I have been using calpol and nurofen and dentinox, I cant use astons and parsons because it contains lactose and she is dairy intollerant. Has any one got any tips or advice? I hate seeing her so unwell and upset all the time :( Thanks for any replies xxx

Would it be worth a trip to the GP just to check things like ears, possible urine infection? Sure you've already thought of that one but thought I would mention it just in case. I don't think a high temperature is caused by teething in itself so there might be more going on.

It sounds grim. I sympathise.

I've taken her to the gp and they said its teething. They said all the symptoms she has go hand in hand with teething. Now her eczema has flared up as well :( Thanks for your reply.

I spoke to my doctor about dairy intolerance vs lactose intolerance and they said they are different things, (my DD has milk intolerance) the doctor said I would be fine to use the powder as she would be dairy which isn't to do with lactose, haven't needed to do so yet as she has calmed down but maybe worth asking doctor again? They also suggested carrots/celery as well. Agree that maybe the doctor could check as well just to check nothing else happening.
