DD 13 months got diagnosed with a urine infection by a and e last wednesday night. They put her on antibiotics as the dipstick showed infection, they sent the sample to the lab and said they would ring if didnt need to take antibiotics etc. They rang Sunday and said keep on with the antibiotic as it was the right one.

Gp rang today to say he wanted to see dd tomorrow about her sample, wants to see her and weigh her. I am a little concerned. Is this a normal thing?

Yes,there could be an underlying issue which led to the urine infection and they want to check on this.

Yes urine infections in young children need careful watching. Your GP is doing the right thing but there's nothing for you to worry about. It's just a sensible step. Your dd has some other problems doesn't she - with her circulation? That history may also be prompting your GP to keep a careful eye on her but that doesn't mean anything's wrong. JUst belt and braces type thing I think.
