DD was prescribed anti biotics yesterday as she gas an infection in both ears & her chest. She's had conjunctivitis over the last week which is clearing without the AB's but she's really poorly.

First dose she took ok second dose she refused so we put it in her milk which she drank about half of.
Put her to bed and an hour later was sick all over her cot. She slept ok

was sick again this morning before taking any ABs but is refusing to let me give her any.

She's also been running a temp since Monday of 39.9 which will go down with calpol & nurofen but she's now refusing to take any meds & spits them out if we do manage to squirt some in.

Any tips?

She's also not eating so I can't sneak it into any food.

TIA

Should add she's 20 mo and we've been using a syringe she won't take it off a spoon.

how old is she?
when ds had pneumonia at 20 months he didn't want to take abs at all. I went back to the gp and he prescribed capsules that we then broke open and mixed the contents with nutella.
also you can get paracetamol suppositories (alvedon) which are a godsend when children are too poorly to take oral medicines. they are available prescription free, but you can get them free if prescribed by the gp.

If you've got the liquid antibiotics, we found the best way was with those little syringes that you squirt into their mouth (rather than a spoon) - even if they're wriggling you can get it in. DS2 (18 months) resisted hugely for the first few times, and then decided he liked it and kept asking for more!
