Dry skin on newborn's forehead

Hi there
my baby girl is 3 weeks old and over the last couple of days I have noticed the skin on her little forehead is very dry - it isn't on her scalp so I don't think it's cradlecap, but it is quite dry and red looking. I'll be asking HV later today but wnated to see if anyone here had any insight/has experienced this? Any tips? Thanks.

My DD suffers with this a lot, she rubs her head a lot when she is tired or strectching and takes all the moisture out of her skin or scratches herself with the nails that never stop growing! I have used baby lotion, baby oil (especially when getting out of the bath) and olive oil at different times and using them often does make it a lot better. There was an issue with it getting slightly red and spoke to my HV who asked if I had recently changed washing powder/conditioner which I had done so I changed back and it's not red anymore, just dry and flaky. Using baby lotion morning and night and it seems to be helping!

I would just use olive oil tbh, as baby lotions can contain lanolin which can aggravate it.

thanks for replying - spoke to HV today and she said it is Cradle Cap, even though it is on her forehead/eyebrows and not her actual scalp/head. Going to try some olive oil and HV also said Aveeno cream?? Not sure if any one has had any luck with that? Thanks again ladies
