Eczema on eyelids

my ds has had a bad rash on his eye lid for months tried lots of different creams but not much clears it. Been told its eczema and the only thing that clears it is mild steriod cream. Only other area he seems to get it is under his armpits and on his willy!

Anyone else's DC have it.

dd1 had it briefly - she usually gets a patch behind knees, or on her sides/back. Sounds like its the 'thin skin' areas your ds has problems with!

I get it on my eyelids and on the inside of my elbows. Have done since being a baby.

I use Oilatum Kids (as dd uses it too- gets it on her cheeks and back of her knees) and find it very effective.

Not dc but I had it for ages. Told was called seborrheic dermatitis - made them write that down! - and it cleared up quickly with a type of canesten cream which also had mild steroid in. Don't know if that helps.

you can buy simple eye ointment which is a mild moisturiser for round the eye. wash with diluted johnsons baby shampoo diluted 1 part to 4 parts water. it can be a kind of blephartis

blisteze and blistex shouldnt be used near mucus membranes . It has menthol in it which is a skin irritant and burns. Glad it works for you PMP but the leaflet says not to use in those areas
