weird bruise

OK I bruise really easily but I've never had one like this.
My 2.5 year old has had a couple of days of leaping around in playgrounds and generally throwing himself around a bit. I noticed yesterday he'd got a bunch of bruises on his shins but they didn't seem to bother him and they looked OK to me. Tonight one of them has got a hard bump in the middle. It's all pale in the centre too. It obviously hurts if you poke it but it doesn't seem to have affected him too much. Playgroup said he was great this morning and apart from being very tired he seems his normal self.
Anyone seen a bruise like this before or do I need to get a pro to look at it? All advice gratefully received.

Worth getting checked out I think, put your mind at rest. I'm not an expert but if he's a bit tired as well, could just be a combination of a hard knock and being a bit under the weather, so he's not healing as well as he should. Maybe he's a bit anaemic.

I would get him checked over. Excessive bruising and unexplained tiredness in children can be an indication of something serious, BUT is almost always nothing but lots of tumbling and early waking!
