Milk allergy or conjunctivitis?

I put dd on cows milk instead of formula and 48 hours later she had really watery eyes that would not stop watering also a really runny nose, she was also constipated so I bought her off cows milk, within 24 hours of coming off it she had been a poo and the watery eyes and nose just stopped.

Move on a week and I thought I would try her on cows milk again after being on it for 72 hours she got a snotty nose again and has woke up this morning with pink eyes sticky eyes. Does this sound like an allergy or just cold and conjunctivitis?

Not sure to be honest mummytopebs. I know that mobing them onto cows milk can certainly cause constipation while they get used to it. Pink sticky eyes does sound like conjunctivitus. When they get a cold, its easy for them to rub their nose and then their eyes which would result in conjunct. I would take her to see a doctor/health visitor to be on the safe side! xxx

Sounds like reaction to milk, try goats?

My ds is dairy-lite and I use mainly goats-based, but occasionally he would have some cows cheese and he would be sneezing within a couple of minutes.

Constipation also linked to cows/dairy overload, also the common knowledge is that for sinus congestion dairy-free is recommended - obviously for a reason.

Formula is based on cows milk so if your dd was Ok on that then she's unlikely to be allergic.

i agree with Whelk if formula wasn't a problem then unlikely to be the milk. Also i presume dd is weaned and therefore likely to have been having dairy products in her diet. It might be worth getting the hv or gp to review and advise to reassure you

it could be a mild intolerance though, because it does sound a bit like a histamine thing doesn't it?

and although formula is made from cow's milk it is vastly altered and made more suitable for human babies to drink...
