2 year old dd2 came down with a cold during the week. She is coughing on and off, mostly at night and goes through phases of being very hot but temp not very high.

She is extremly irritable though and keeps crying which is very unlike her. Not just whingeing but really upset sobbing.

She is finding it very difficult to sleep and is not eating much.

She has been very lucky so far healthwise - just one or two colds and a tummy bug since birth so I am worried I am a bit over confident about her health and maybe I am missing something like an earache or sore throat.

I am using vaporub for her cough and giving her paracetamol when she gets hot.

If she was your dd would you have her seen or wait it out a bit longer?

Thanks

I'd wait it out, and dose her up with Calpol in the meantime. If the Calpol didn't settle her, then I'd see a GP.
One of my 4 was always the most whingy clingy crying child when ill.
