Sorry but what is the D & V virus with the poo with the distinctive yukky sweet smell?

Is it the rota virus? DD is getting over it but her poo is just this really disgusting smell and I remember reading on here it is either the rota or noro that smells like this.

i remember all too clearly with both of my boys when they had (confirmed through stool sample) rotavirus they had poo that smelt as you describe. hope it passes clearly, for both of your sakes.

Thank you zoned, she is over thecworst this is rather the tail end of it so to speak. But it is bloody horrid no wonder she was so poorly.

it really is horrid, i remember it so well. i think this must be the time of year for it as i remember ds1 had it around the time of his first birthday (4 februarys ago) and ds2 had it last march, he came down with it coincidentally after a gruesome day of hospital tests.
