Teenage DS1 and poor weight gain

DS1 (14 years) has a hospital appointment next week to see a paediatrician about his weight. He weighs 30kg (4st 10)and is 158cm (4ft 10) tall. He has always been on the small side and was induced 3 weeks early as scans suggested he had stopped growing. Birthweight was 2.38kg (5lb 4oz). As a baby/toddler he loitered on the bottom percentiles, but now is below these.

Neither DH or I can be described as large (am 5ft 6 and weigh 8 stone), DH is 5ft 7 and av weight (not sure how much). But DS2 is now 29kg, and is 4 years younger than DS1

Deep down I think that DS1 was never "programmed" to be taller/weightier, but I mentioned his weight to GP during visit for something else a while ago, and GP sufficiently concerned by weight to make this referral.

Not sure why I am posting other than to see if anyone else has experienced this, and what to expect, if anything, at appt with paediatrician?
