If any of you lovely people could help me I would be very grateful.

My 15month old DS has had a bug since Sat going something like this... Sat night was sick Sunday morning diarrhoea once, sunday evening sick in bath, monday nothing, tues diarrhoea and sick once but very lethargic, wed diarrhoea once, today fine until I was about to try him with supper then sick everwhere!

He's drinking fine and only having a small amount of food- mostly dry things like breadsticks, also bit of fruit puree. He's having a bit of milk morning and evening only.

My DH has also been ill, mostly with the bottom end ahem! Only sick once.
Can anyone offer advice as to why it is going on for so long, or what i should be doing to help?
Many thanks in advance for your help!

Lots of fluids, whatever food he wants but avoid dairy as this can irritate a poorly gut and prolong the illness.

I was wondering about that, but have read elsewhere that it's ok. Think I might try anyway as I really want him to get better!

It is known to irritate the gut. Worth trying to avoid it I think. Children can develop a temporary lactose intolerance following a gastro bug.

Miserable when they're ill isn't it?

Thanks ShowOfHands, it is rather miserable! He's gone to bed without any milk for the first time ever so we'll see what happens!

I hope he gets well soon. I can well remember how quickly dd would bounce back while we were left sleep deprived and anxious.

Just make sure he's hydrated and administer regular cuddles. Smile
