conjunctivitis on dd

poor dd she seems quite run down at the moment and now has gunky red eyes.

dh says go to docs and get that cream that ocmes in tiny tube.

nhs website says do nothing it will clear up.

whats the mn verdict? i'm not forcing the cream into dd's eyes unless its really necessary.

Give it 48 hours, in that time clean it with cool boiled water. If that doesn't work then go to the GP to get something.

If she is more than a toddler you can buy over the counter, same stuff as GP prescribes. Called Golden Eye I believe

thanks folks. dd is 16 months.

sneeze - yeh it is called golden eye i remember now. can get free from docs but have to wait for appointment. sigh. think i will see how it goes just bathing

Pharmasists are now trained to deal with minor ailments such as conjunctivitis and they can advise and prescribe over the counter eye drops. You'll have to take your dd with you though so the pharmasist can take a look.
