Atrial septal defect

hey my 2 yr old has an 8mm asd and is going to have to have surgery to close the hole but its also causing the top right side of his heart to be full and could cause probs with his lungs.
i have great support from family and friends but i feel they dont really understand how im feeling about him having the surgery
naturally i am anxious all kinds of things are going through my head
had anyone been through this or is going through this??
would love to talk to people who know about this

Hi kat - my dd has a complex heart defect for which she's had a partial repair.

You're bound to be anxious about the upcoming surgery, however much people try to reassure you you won't stop worrying.
