Broken leg

My ds broke his tib and fib in the summer seemed to heal ok, but December was running and went to turn and the fib broke in same place again.
Just wondered if this has happened to anybody else as hospital said it quite rare.

dd broke her collar bone...7 weeks in a sling and second week out of it fell off her climbing frame and re cracked it!

the mass of bone around the break held though, so it was just another two weeks in a sling.

What did they say, surely you have been back to the fracture clinic to see someone and ask some question?

Its in a cast again and comes of next week will be asking more questions then thanks for reply.

I'm a radiographer and I dont think this is that uncommon. A radiologist will be able to report on x rays and say whether there is any problem with bone density

How rotten! My ds had a month out of his cast before he broke his arm again!

Quite often the muscles are weaker and not providing enough support. Kids don't get any Physio after a break these days (DS had 9 weeks in a leg cast then almost tore his achilles tendon a few months later as it had not been stretched enough - then they gave him Physio).

When he is out of a cast this time ask for a decent excercise sheet or if Physio would help?

Oh your poor son too.
Your right about physio we didnt get any either, and you know what boys are like they want to be out with their mates and running around. I couldnt belive it when ds broke it in same place again. He had been in cast for ten weeks feel so sorry for him going through it all again
Im really scared it could happen again.
Expect you felt like that too.
