Colds and baby groups

I feel like I should know the answer to this, but I don't, so here goes:

My six-month-old DS has developed a cold over the last few days. I would say yesterday was the worst day, very snotty, obviously not himself and (combined with teething pains) a lot of crying. Today he has been much better and happier within himself but still snotty.

Do you take your babies out to baby groups etc when they have a cold but are past the worst of it? How long are they generally contagious for? It would be good to get out but don't want to go around infecting people. Also wondering if I'm overthinking things considering it's just a cold.

Anyway was being indecisive so thought posting this might help!

I would go out - maybe overthinking a little :) I was exactly the same and just realised I take DD out all the time with runny nose which I would never have done with DS. 9 out 10 babies probably have one at this time of year!
