yes side effects of mmr often kick in after a few days. sorry. Sad

forevermore · 22/01/2011 14:45

the vomitting is every 40 min 3 times so far aprt from just now when it was 10 min apart and yellow liquid - is that bile ....NHS DIRECT say just monitor and try to replace fluids but not due to mmrSad. cant tell me how long it can go on for??

it varies - but if its severe take him to a&e. babies get dehydrated very quickly, surprised NHS are telling you to just monitor.

Vomiting isn't a usual side effect of MMR vaccine.

He may well have another bug. Replace fluids and if she won't drink, or isn't weeing then see Out of Hours.

Dloose bowels now and vomiting every 10 min at one point now every 30 min again. Out of hours dr says give flat lemonade with pinch of salt if she won't take dirolyte which she normally hates and little and often fluid. When I offer her dirolyte I have to prise it off her surprisingly but I think it's because I haven't offered anything else and she thirsty. But I don't want her to have too much fluid if it's just making her vomit. What do u think?

Bile stained vomiting in babies can be very serious. Don't want to worry you but I have had the unfortunate experience of talking to nhs direct and the lady I got was very ill informed. I would seriously get him seen ( I assume he is only 1 ish?)
Hope he is ok

we saw the dr and he says gastroenteritis probably one of the norovirus type things. so this is day 2 and she isn't eating a drinking in between vomits. she has vomitted 4 times now in 12 hours as opposed to 5 times per hour yesterday.

loose bowels every 4 hours or so.
what should i do / expect now? she won't entertain even a cheerioSad just dirolyte and watered down milk

I wouldn't worry about food just concentrate on the fluids. Just keep an eye she isn't dehydrated ( Less than half normal wet nappies, dry lips/ mouth, sunken looking eyes). Straight back to Docs/ hospital if so. Good luck
