MMR plus other jabs at same time

Our surgery is saying that 1 year olds should have MMR plus two other jabs at the same appointment. AIBU to think this is a lot for a small childs body to cope with? plus the trauma of having all those needles at one sitting. youch.

anyone done this...or not done it and asked to space them out? am sure the nurse would do if i ask...she is very nice like that.

You can spread them out. It's just a recommended schedule. If you feel uncomfortable then postpone a few. I agree with you btw.

ds had his spaced out

I think they are gradually changing each area to doing them all at once rather than 2 appointments but if you want them seperate then ask and they have to.

Where DS has his injections it is still seperate, when we went in for his 12 month booster he ended up with his flu jab (part 1) instead and she thought it would be better for him to just have the flu and postpone the others. It means he will be 16 months before he has his MMR but I would rather it be like that than rushed through!

DD1 had hers spaced out. The HIB and MEN C ones first, then 7 weeks later (the nurse told me i should give it 6-7 weeks until the next one) she had the MMR.

DD2 has just had her letter through and im going to ask for them to be given seperate again.

I think it is a lot to cope with at once, especially as DD1 was poorly after the MMR. If she had had the other two at same time she could have felt even worse.

You don't have to let them do all three. We did the MMR separately. Better as DS seemed to react to it.
