cut to head - stitch or not?

dd2 (3years) has just fallen over and cut her head. the cut to the scalp is prob 2cm long. v neat. no jagged edges. it didn't beed that much. i have cleaned it and cleaned and pinned hair away from it.

what now?

i think looks like it'll heal ok without a stitch but i'm no expert. and dh thinks it might open when she lies on it to sleep. she should be in bed by now of course...

any advice/experience?

my ds had one this summer which was on bridge of nose - they glued and steri stripped his to hold it together and it has healed well enough - think it also depends how deep it went.

If it has stopped bleeding, it should be fine.

Poor thing Sad

yes, goodmanners, if it was on her face i'd take her to a&e for stitch to keep scarring to a minimum but as it's hidden by hair and away from hairline i'm tempted not to make her endure a&e.

she's fine now, scurryfunge and it stopped bleeding very quickly. bled surprisingly little for a headwound too.

last time i put my laptop on the floor - on advice of police to keep it out of sight. sigh. now it's a health hazard!

thank you both for such quick answers. mumsnet is great Smile
