please help with calpol/nurofen and dosage!

This confuses me every time so please could someone help me sort this out!

DD is very poorly, very high temp and sick etc. Today she has had:

4am - 2x5ml calpol
8am - 2x5ml calpol
12.30pm - 2x5ml calpol

She is now bright red and complaining that she is in pain again and i only have 2mls calpol left until 6pm when DH gets home! So i have given her 7.5ml nurofen as it said on the bottle. She is 5.

What can i give her next?? And when? Will nurofen take down the temp on its own? It is 39.7...

Im panicking, never seen her so unwell.
I need a list of when to give her what.

I gave nurofen at 5pm, is it ok to give calpol at 7pm before bed? then nurofen at 11pm if needed? (6 hours after last dose)
Then she cant have calpol again can she as she will have had 4 doses since 5am this morning right??

If the meds aren't bringing her temp down though, try a warm sponge bath (not a cold one, you can send her into shock) or a tepid flannel on the back of her neck

There is a lot of bugs doing the rounds atm so its likely she's picked one up. I'm sure she'll recover quickly

Thanks. That is what im worried about really, the temp not coming down with just nurofen in the night. Will try the warm sponge bath in that case.

So i can give calpol again from 5am tomorrow can't i?

I wouldn't worry too much about the temp, DD was really poorly with tonsilitis and Dr said not to worry bout the temp, they can tolerate it for a few days. And it actually helps them get better, kind of cooks the bugs out. Hope she's better soon

Alternating Iboprufen and paracetamol 3 hourly is absolutely fine.

I have heard that about the temp before imnotaslimjim..seem to forget everything when DC get ill!!
