Teething: can it cause vomiting?

DS, 10 months, has vomited twice in the last 2 days. Both times it was at a mealtime. Yesterday his nappies were fine, today they're runny (generally a bit loose anyway). He's fine other than being a bit off his grub this morning and the fact that he's chewing like mad on a spoon. If it wasn't for the vomit I'd say teething; if it wasn't for the chewing I'd say D&V but he's OK in himself. Any ideas?
