We took ds for his six week check today (he is 12 week so a bit late) and the GP asked if he was reacting to sounds but we didn't think to look for it. When we got home we tried shaking a rattle near him, slamming the door and shouting him, all with no reaction whatsoever. The only thing he reacted to was a pan being banged with a spoon right next to him and even then he wasn't that bothered, he just blinked. Should we be concerned? Our eldest had to have grommets and dp had hearing problems as a child.

He's probably fine but you could always mention this to your HV and they should be able to arrange a hearing test if you've not already been given an appointment for one.

Did he have a hearing test when he was born? I'm sure your HV can easily arrange one.
