Boots own Calpol dosage confusion

I imagine this is a silly question but the dosage states 3-11 months is 2.5-5ml. So how much should I give DS who is 6 months?
I don't want to give him more than he needs but I obviously don't want to underdose him either.

Thank you.

How many grams of paracetamol in 5ml?

Flisspaps · 15/01/2011 09:12

2.5ml, we still only give 10mo DD that if she needs some.

McDreamy · 15/01/2011 09:15

Sorry I meant mgs!

doonhamer · 15/01/2011 09:17

I always went for the lowest dose, so in your situation I'd give 2.5ml to a 6month old. I would give the same does to an 11month old

Sirzy · 15/01/2011 09:50

I would only give the 2.5

DS is 13 months and has the minimum dose most of the time unless I think the situation warrents more or I am told to by medical proffessionals.

pipplin · 15/01/2011 11:04

Ok great thank you all. I've only been giving him such so that's ok. Thanks again :)

It's like when you get the adult paracetamol saying take 1 or 2 tablets - you take one if it's a minor headache and 2 if it's a more serious one.

Or you can go on weight to get the most accurate dose.
