Ds has had raised temp all day. Been giving calpol and ibuprofen. Has been ok but was hot when I checked on him at 830. Gave some calpol but he threw up couple mins after. Temp now 39. Obv can't risk any more calpol untill 4hrs passed . Had three lots of Ibuprofen and not due any till 2am. Worried as last calpol having no effect prob due to throwing up. He is fast asleep but v hot. Just after some advice.

ring gp for advise they wil be able to tell best thing to do with the calpol and throwing up. I really don't know and it's difficult I'm not there. Have you tried no clothes and just one sheet (assuming the room isn't freezing at this time of year) and not cold cloths/flannel but just damp on him? I remember mine having raging temperatures at times which eventually calmed down but just check because of the throwing up.

If he's sleeping and doesn't seem uncomfortable then just let him be. The fever is a good thing and it's helping him fight whatever bug he has. Make sure he keeps drinking and just keep an eye on him. Sleep is always good when they're sick. Make sure he isn't bundled up too much but don't let him shiver. Hope he feels better soon.

He is breastfeeding on and off so think will leave untill he properly stirs.

That's great! It's such a comfort for them as well as keeping them hydrated and passing on antibodies.
