Is my 11 week old DD really teething?

DD is almost 11 weeks old, clingy (unusual for her) sleepy in the day - again unusual and not taking as much food as she usually does, again unusual she's a milk monster! Dribbling, and I can see two half moon shapes on her lower jaw line and two whitish looking hard bits in her top jaw. No temperature and generally well otherwise. Anyone had same/similar experience? New to mumsnet! thanks

Hey I'm new too, I usually use bounty but don't always get the replies I want so thought I'd try another site! I was in the same position as you. My son has been dribbling loads since he was 10 weeks and now at 19 weeks has definately getting his first tooth through. Right now his cheeks are bright red and hot (generally around 6pm everyday), and can be quite grumpy and clingy too, very sleepy in the say but hard to settle at night. I've heard of babies teething as early as 11 weeks, If you can feel that it's hard and sharp then its most probably teeth! good luck xx

Thanks amcateer!! Good luck to you too x Apparently Ashton Parsons powders are the thing to get for teething babies but it's like gold dust! Am on the hunt today...

Your DD can be teething. My ds had his two bottom teeth at 8 weeks. To be honest I only noticed when they both appeared!

Mine started teething at three months (went on forever before she got first teeth though). Boots have Ashton n Parsons or Weleda camomile granules are also good. Also Bibistuff bibs so they don't soak through their clothes all the time. Love them Smile

My hv told me that lots of babies get teething type pains around 10-12 weeks although the teeth don't come through for ages. Apparently there is some theory that the teeth shift/move then but it often settles down. I don't know whether it's true or not but my quite a few of my NCT group (including me) noticed their babies seemed to have a sore mouth, were grizzly and didn't feed as well around that time even though DDs first tooth didn't appear until 5 months and most of the other babies didn't get them through until after that. Ashton and Parsons powders (before feeds and at bedtime) were great Grin, hope you find some. We got them from Lloyds chemists. Hope she feels better soon.

I couldn't find them anywhere either, took me a good few shopping trips! I eventually got it at my local off licence! xx
