Flu jab?

Does anyone know which groups are being offered it? My 7m/o ds last prescription has 'book your flu jab' on it. Wondering if it's a generic message on all prescriptions or if they are offering to 7/mo babies. He has allergies/ wheezes but not diagnosed with asthma.

Obviously I'll ring and ask but it's Saturday and they're not open until Monday and I'm an impatient soul!

they are only offering it to children with underlying health issue so dont know if he would fall into that category. I'd ring and ask.

I would ring and ask. Ds who is 14 months is having his on wednesday but has just been diagnosed as asthmatic

Thanks for your replies, he's only 7m/o so no diagnosis of asthma as he's too young. He wheezes/ coughs every day, they say it's allergy related and he has anti-histamines daily. Few chest infections already, plus he's very underweight.

Daft and confusing if they just put 'book your flu jab' on every prescription.

I'll ask, but considering he's too young to be treated as asthmatic he's unlikely I guess. I wouldn't normally be bothered but as his dad and I work in schools and his grandparents in hospitals/ universities and he goes nursery/ uses public transport he's quite likely to come into contact.

My ds is 5 and has a heart murmor and asthma and hasn't been called up. I was thinking this was a bit strange?

strawberrycake · 10/01/2011 10:54

I rung them today and they booked him in, few questions. tjacksonpfc: maybe you need to ring and check. If I hadn't read his repeat prescription (normally I don't, they go straight to boots) I wouldn't have seen the message.
