DD2 has chicken pox and i thought she only had a few spots but was checking her over before bed today and found lots in her hair then i found 3 hard lumps in her head. They are as big as a 1p coin and she says they dont hurt.
Do you think they are just chicken pox but with no blister/scab?
Im so worried and i can't take her to the docs till monday :(

Booney, I recently had shingles (same virus as chicken pox) and I had about five or six lumps on my scalp. They didn't hurt. I was worried too, went to the GP (shingles hadn't emerged yet, was the day before) and he thought they were cysts - but as soon as I took the antivirals and my shingles started to improve, the lumps went. They have not come back.

I would bet they are linked to the chicken pox, and I honestly wouldn't worry about them. I don't know if they are glands or what, but I do know mine came up with the CP virus and then went down again.

If she still has them a week or so after the CP, do get her checked by all means - they could be (harmless) cysts, which wouldn't be worrying either, but good to have peace of mind.
