Hi I need some advice....My ds 11 is due to get his ears pinned back in the next few weeks. He is looking forward to seeing his new ears but a tiny bit worried about the operation.
Have any of you been through this either yourself or with your children? Is it painful? Have you been happy with the results?
TIA

I had it done when I was 10 and am so pleased I had it done.

It was very painful ( although they did muck up my pain killer the first night) I was heavily bandaged for about 2 weeks and had to wear bandages overnight for about another month.

I would recommend it to anyone though!

Thanks for your reply Sirzy
I know he will be happy with the results at the minute the poor wee soul is being called names :(
I just worry about the pain he will suffer

That's why I did it. The pain from it done was nothing to the pain of the teasing really.

I had mine done at 18. I really wish I had it done earlier but my parents wouldn't let me Sad

It is painful for the first 24 hours and the bandage is very bulky and unsightly for the first two weeks. Be very supportive, I wish my parents had been.

I had mine done at 11 and I honestly don't remember any pain at all. Very glad I had it done early on

My daughter is 11 and wants to have her ears pinned. We went to the doctor - who bascially said that it isn't done on the NHS anyone and they can't recommend anyone! I'm at a loss of where to start! Can anyone recommend a surgeon in London please!!
