Humidifier for baby's blocked nose?

DS (4 months) has had a snuffly nose for about 3 weeks. He's fine in the day but it's keeping him (and us) awake at night.

We've tried saline spray, snot sucker, vapour rub and tilting the cot. Not much success.

Am thinking of buying a humidifier. Any advice/other tips? Am getting desperate!

Only that humidifiers really do seem to work, we tried everything with our dd2 (who had narrow airways and really needed to breathe through her nose at night as a baby!) and this was by far the best.

Only thing is, make sure you clean it out regularly - we discovered green algae growing in ours after a few weeks of constant use Blush and humidifiers can harbour nasties like Legionnaires Disease if not kept clean.

We've tried warm and cool mist humidifiers - both worked well, just worth getting one thats powerful enough to send a strong stream of mist into the air around the cot. Good luck!
