DS, 9, splitting headache for 10 days

anyone had anything similar/got any thoughts? He's been suffering from bad pain behind/above right eye since Dec 23rd - awake at night crying with pain (screaming hysterically on 2 occasion.) GP treated him for sinusitis - has not responded to antibiotics, no improvement at all. Eye is half shut. He spends 80% of day lying on sofa - completely lethargic, pale and poorly. Went to A & E NYday as pain so bad, after 5 1/2 hours of being passed from dept to dept, a paediatrician sent us home with migraine tablet. Today he is STILL lying on the sofa, pale, eye half shut, says the pain at the mo is 6 out of 10, and that's with nurofen and calpol. Anyone got any thoughts? There is no temperature or nasal discharge. Normally a very very active boy - has a county cricket trial this coming weekend!

What Pixie said. Go and make a nuisance of yourself. 10 days is too much, and the tablets are clearly not working so more help is needed from them.

Agree with others, take him back to a and e . It is horrid when they are ill, you just feel so hopeless.

Thanks, sod's law he is now off the sofa playing quietly with lego, but we should be at a friend's drinks do with him roaring around with his cousins - unheard of for him to turn that sort of thing down, but he said he wasn't well enough to go.

I'll monitor him during this afternoon, if he isn't too bad I'll hang on and see GP tomorrow. Just can't understand what it is!! Antibiotics have made no difference at all.
