And if it works I'll be skipping around shouting from the rooftops after four nights of no sleep and a very grumpy baby!
Watch this space...

It says somewhere that its possibly to do with the reflexology points for the lungs, sinuses etc, being on the feet, between the toes and towards them particularly. I will defiinitely report back! Its worth a try for any kind of cough I expect.

Watching with interest

This made me smile, I looked after my 7 month old niece overnight a couple of weeks ago, she has a bad cough. Her mum said rub the vicks on her feet before she goes to sleep, I thought she was completely mad!! Wink

It worked!! Don't tell me how, but it did!

Stick a pair of sock on baby afterwards though, and it'll work even better.

Scootergrrrl · 02/01/2011 22:56

It's working so far.

(creeps quietly to bed so as not to jinx it/anger the sleep fairies....)

How did it go?

Scootergrrrl · 03/01/2011 14:33

Bizarrely there was no coughing at all apart from one huge coughing fit around midnight, so much that I though he might be sick Sad

Of course, he found many other things to wake up and shout about.....

My 13 month old boy has had a terrible cough and cold lately and I have been using homeopathic remedies with him, which have helped enormously. Here are a few suggestions:
Aconite 30c - After exposure to dry, cold wind
Ant tart 30c - Wet, rattling cough
Bryonia 30c - Dry cough with chest pain and headache
Pulsatilla 30c - Dry at night, loose in the morning.
Also I have been using this organic chest stick, which is similar to Vicks but without the nasty chemicals, which can be bought from Pitta Patta.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to town later so will have a look at some of the homeopathic stuff.

Very interestingly, DH didn't put the vapour rub on DSs feet last night and he coughed and coughed (knackered emoticon....) I'll be standing over him as he does it tonight!
