You can give an anti histamine like piriton and on top of that we were advised by private paediatrician to give 3 days in a row one drop of otrivin (adult version) in each nostril in morning and evening. It is very important not to give otrivin too often, i.e. more than 3 days or so or more often, because it can then make it worse. Also lots of drinking makes mucus thinner and regularly blowing nose. Humidifier also helps or damp cloths on radiator. Central heating can make the air very dry which makes it much worse. Did she get anti-biotics for the tonsillitis? Lolly pops, ice cream etc may give her some relieve as well. Your poor dd, hope she is better soon.
