Can ds have calcold and tixylix?

Ds1 is 7 next week and has a nasty cold and very chesty cough. I have been giving him calcold and was wondering if its ok to give him tixylix cough medicine as well.
I have tried to ring the pharmacy but there is no answer

P.s. I'd sit him in a steamy bathroom (shower running fan off etc.) to clear his chest a bit.

Ooh good idea. Have got him inhaling oil of olbas at the moment and that seems to be helping. Will sit him in the bathroom now

Good, that'll really break it up, hopefully he can cough up some of what's on his chest.
