Is this diarrhoea?

For the last couple of weeks ds (12mo) has been doing 1-3 poos a day, most of which are very loose. He's had a cold for the last month or so, with lots of chesty coughing, but apart from that is right as rain. I don't know whether this is diarrhoea, or just loose stools.

I'm pretty sure it's ok. Dh is worried and wants me to take him to the doctor. Could the doctor do anything in this case?

If he is otherwise fine, drinking well, plenty of wet nappies I think it is unlikely the Dr would do much at present.

Are they runny or just a bit wet/sloppy? Especially nasty?

It's very smelly. Sloppiness varies from very to more like a paste.

I thought it might have something to do with teething - I can see some molars pressng up against his gums.

He's still bf on demand (plus food of course) so no problems with hydration.
