Sore eye socket and a high temperature?

DD is in bed with a temp of 102 and a headache. She's had calpol and the headache has eased a little. But now she has an ache in her eye socket - very sore. Is it just a form of headache or something else?

ANyone come across this?

Thanks pixie - SHe has a cold already, has had one for weeks. I guess it's just part of the temp thing. She seems a bit happier now - had a sleep which always helps

Maybe sinus.

I get pain all around my eyes, top of my nose and forehead with blocked sinuses.

eldritch · 17/12/2010 15:29

I was going to say sinus infection too - I nearly always get this after a cold. If it continues you might need to go to GP for antibiotics, if it turns out to be a bacterial infection. Hope she feels better soon. Smile

Yes it sounds like sinusitis

Ormirian · 17/12/2010 17:20

OK. Thankyou.

SHe's gone back to bed again - temperature flared up again. She must be ill - she asked me to cancel her riding lesson! I am not noramally good at the Flo Nightingale thing - I get impatient - but she is so sick I've been surpassing myself Grin

I think we'll see how it goes tonight before calling GP. Poor little lass Sad

Nasal spray like otrivine or sinex also helps!

DaftApeth · 17/12/2010 20:58

Ibuprofen also better than paracetetamol as it is also an anti-inflammatory so helps to open everything up.

It is agony when I have it and usually ends u with me on anti-bs.
