6mth Blood in Poo

My 6mth boy has had diarrhoea for about 2 weeks now. Just over a week he has had dark mucus blood in his nappy. He isn't bothered & is really happy. No temp at all. The DR is running tests at the moment but has anyone experienced this with their little ones? He has been formula feed for 2 months. We took him off his normal formula to try soy but then i read heaps of bad things about soy (& he had dark circles around his eye with the soy) so we put him on a hypoallergenic formula (for his eczema). Help! I'm trying not to worry...... Sad

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sounds like an intolerance or allergy. My DS used to get mucus - he couldn't handle cow's milk or soya.

Is he on solids? What has he had?

Thanks. We haven't started him on solids yet. He was prem & isn't holding his neck up straight yet. He is nowhere near sitting as well. If it was an intolerance/allergy to cows milk wouldn't it have started when he first was on formula 2 months ago? Also can allergies cause blood? What's the option for formula then....goats milk? I've heard that can cause allergies too.
