Which products for sensitive skin?

Hi ladies,

My DS, 9 mo, has started getting small rough patches of skin. I'm not sure if they itch - he doesn't appear to be troubled by them, but I'd like to change some of our products to be on the safe side.

Can anyone recommend a bath wash and a washing powder / softener which seem to work for children with sensitive skin?

i steer clear of sodium lauryl sulfate or sls it's an industrial chemical used to dilute oils. It foams well though hence the reason it is in ALOT of high street products.

There are brands without such as

Little Me in Boots
Halo and Horns which are in tescos as well as sainsburys and boots etc
tthere are more - just don't get caught in the 'for sensitive skins' advertising cos quite often it isn't

You need to read the labels

washing powder is hit and miss really but Surcare is usually ok - it is in most supermarkets.

We use Filetti (for babies) or Persil non bio (when older). I still get this as an adult - don't be fooled by supermarket own brand non bios - they still give me (and my DD) these skin problems - little dry skin patches that get sore.

Don't use anything in the bath at all - water will clean well enough at this age.

In fact, lots of mums with older DCs to care for don't necessarily bath the babe every night - no harm done!

Something like bicarb or seasalts in the water will soften it.

We use pur babies bath wash for the boys - in hair and everything. No sls - all natural and made in the uk :) I second WWWY in the not bathing every night thing and using only water at that age. DS2 was fine with just water for ages.
