Hi everyone

It's my first time posting on this (or any!) forum, I've read a few posts and you all seem like a friendly bunch!
Anywayyyy my question to all you Mumsnetters is - have any of you had experience with a potty trained toddler who refuses to do a wee? I stress that he is potty trained because any advice google throws up is for parents who are trying to potty train their little ones, which isnt that helpful because he has been dry for a good few months. The problem is that he holds on for ages. He doesnt like to do a wee at all for the childminder, and just lately he wont do one at home either. He has been a bit under the weather for a few days, and today he hasnt done a wee since lunchtime, and would not do one before bed. I sat in the bathroom with him, left him to it for a bit, put the tap on, held his hand, told him wee-wee stories, threatened him with a doctor (he hates them!), to no avail. Help!!

If he's under the weather has he been drinking enough? Could he be de-hydrated?

up drinks and offer a clear reward?

softly softly catchee wee--wee.

my toddler went through a phase of it so i built in ritual wee-wee times (but she loves routine) as well as the above.

Thanks for your answers, I think he was dehydrated - seems a bit more inclined to wee today! BTW, I love softly softly catchy wee-wee. I may make it my catch phrase.
