Any ideas for a very sore ear?!!

Hi,ds1 has been crying in pain for last 2 hrs:( ,think its prob an ear infection,have given calpol/ibuprofen,is there anything else I can give him,ie,home remedy or apply heat/cold compress etc,any ideas ?

How old is he?

He is 7

Keeping the ears warm and dry will help a lot - avoid bathing.

Lots of rest. If you have any saline spray (Sterimar) that can help clear out all the gunk from the sinuses which will help.

Hope he feels better soon. There seems to be a lot of bugs going round.
