Dd14 has pain in the top of her stomach just below her rubs

Meant to say ribs. Really worried. It gets better after she eats. Does anyone have experience of pain after nurofen. She was nurofen 400mg for 3 days after she had hervtop braces put in but didn't eat much ......could it be that. Doc says wait and see but she has been uncomfortable for about 5 days

sounds like it may have caused local inflammation ,which could take longer than 5 days to heal,remember all that acid swishing over the sore patch,keep the acid neutral with small frequent bland foods,low fat,little yoghurt drinks,runny mashed pots,cereal,best fruit apple,something before bed,avoid food that makes pain worse a few hours later, if shes a worrier then she will trigger more stomach acid,adults are given gaviscon to help ask your pharmacist if they think it might help,

Nurofen is very irritating to the stomach lining. It causes nausea and pain and should not be taken on an empty stomach.

I agree with gladlymadly re diet.

Hopefully it will heal in a few days.

Thank you. I took her back to docs because she was sent home from school. He has given her some medicine to help heal her stomach and all the things you have said. Hopefully she will start to feel better. Won't be doing that again :(
