DD was hit in the eye with a skipping rope. An hour later she still can't open it and it's watering. I've a drs. appt for this evening. What can I do to help before then?

Ouch. Put a pair of sunglasses on her, or a pirate mask so she can keep her eye closed.

I personally would go to the eye hospital.

I mean pirate eye patch.

I would take her to A&E. We have a specialist eye department though. I took DS2 to a walk in centre last year after a branch went in his eye and they just sent us to A&E.

There's not much you can do otherwise - just cover it so she can keep her eye closed

A&E - that's what we did. Your gp will just send you there. Some have a specialist eye unit. They will put local anaesthetic in and examine it under a magnifier. Antibiotics will be needed.
