Temperature and sore mouth

My ds (4) has been ill since Friday with a temperature and sore mouth. It doesn't seem to be one place in his mouth that hurts. Sometimes it is his lips, othertimes the top or his teeth. But his temperature is up and down and he looks pale.

So any suggestions ... do I see the doctor or the dentist with him.

I would go for the doctor first due to the temperature. If they think the problem may be dental they can always advise you to see the dentist after.

Can you see anything in his mouth (spots/ulcers/etc)?
