Nappy rash and constipation

DD is two and a half and suffers badly from constipation. She poos maybe once a week. Currently on Movicol peadiatric plain.

Since yesterday she's been struggling to poo, and has developed a very very sore nappy rash all over her labia and down onto her inner bum cheeks.

She's currently passing the soft poo that is surrounding the older, harder poo, it's a bit like wet farts in her nappy, and i'm trying to be vigilant and change her every time she strains so she's not sat in a soiled nappy. She was in cloth but had to change her to disposables this morning as i couldn't keep up with the washing - i have two in cloth.

She's obviously in a lot of discomfort trying to poo, and now this napy rash as well - it's very sore and the skin is broken. The only thing i have in is drapolene, and i've been putting that on it.

Currently we're a house of ill - DS2 has a tempreture and is ill and DS3 is cooking something too. I'm wondering if DD has picked something up and this is causing her to have a sore nappy area? Would a water inection cause this?

Any thoughts on what i can do for her? I've got the poo angle covered, it's more a question of waiting for her to poo, but the nappy rash is a totally new thing.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Sorry, can't really help but didn't want you to remain unanswered.

Apparently whisked eggwhite is good for nappy rash. Also as much time as possible nappy-free.

Bless her, it can't be nice. Make sure she's drinking plenty too - that way if it is due to concentrated wee, it'll dilute it a bit.

Hope it settles soon!

She's just been violenty sick everywhere, bless her. As she was straining, she started getting sick.

I think it's going to be a long night...
