Is this Asthma?

My daughter is 9 and for about 3 weeks has had a cough at night and when she's been on her bike/scooter or running around and very active.

My sister is insisting it's asthma. She doesn't seem unwell at any other times. It doesn't seem like a deep chesty / phlegm type cough.

Can it just start suddenly like this?

I didn't know it was related to hormones - that's interesting thanks. I thought it would have been evident before this.

I think we'll pop to the doctors then just to be sure.

Does anyone know what should we expect from an initial gp visit? She's really not keen on needles so I'm hoping they won't need to take blood? I can't see why the would but thought I'd ask anyway.
