Can conjunctivitis cause fever? Advice gratefully received.

Not sure it is conjunctivas though it might be. DS is six months and a few days ago had some discharge from his eyes. It wasn't much and has never got sticky so I wasn't convinced it was conjunctivitis. There's no redness either. But now he has a bit of a temp. Any thoughts? Many thanks.

You'd likely need a lot more going on with the eyes before it was likely to effect his body temperature.

I'd not worry, manage the fever but if his eyes get bad do a rethink.

Cheers DBennett. I'm not even sure it is conjunctivitis. Maybe just a cold bedding in. Thanks for your advice.

could just be the start of a cold, when our bodies are run down we are more likely to pick up everything including a little eye infection, so temp could be due to pending cold, treat the temp and go to GP if eye is not better or he develops any other symptoms that worry you.
